 August 2023 E-update


This is the 2023-24 Chapter Officer team. Jacob Huyett- Secretary,
 Madeline Brontrager- President, Dylan Anderson- Treasurer,
Kennedy Smith- Sentinol, Lora Larison- Vice President,
Jace Huyett- Reporter.

August Meeting

At the august chapter meeting we had 62 members present. We discussed changing our points system and attending the agriculture safety and career fair in Wamego. We had ice cream for all of the members after the meeting.

We had our first door prize drawing; Shianne Kimball won a Stanley Cup and Rebecca Dement won a Bluetooth speaker.

We started a new tradition of "Member of the Month", Noah Bartel was chosen for the Augsut memebr of the month for his commitment and involvement over the summer. Noah attended range camp, summer practices for the National ENR team and helped with many other things within the chapter.

Open House and Signing Night


We had 29 members attend and sign the “I believe pledge”. The members and their families enjoyed food that was made by the officer team and played “Chicken in the Hen House” during the parent meeting.

SAE Fair

There were  a total of 48 students who entered posters, 29 experienced High School members and 19 novice/first year members. This year winners were chosen in different catagories.

In the Classroom

Horticulture 2

The horticulture 2 class got the approval to add raised beds behind the greenhouse and concession stand to gain more experience with gardening and local food production. We started builging the boxes on Tuesday August 29th with the goal of getting a later fall crop planted soon.We are excited to have this addition to our department.

work on getting the first two planter boxes assembled.

Ag Fabrications, Ag Welding, and Agribusiness Management

The ag fabricaitons, ag welding and agribusiness managment classes began working on the Basketball court restoration at the Middle School. All four hoops are taken down and ready for painting and new rims.
The ag welding and fabrications class take down the basketball hoop.
