The December meeting minutes were read by Addison Bontrager, upcoming events were read by Maddy Bontrager, and the Advisors report was done by Mr. Bartel and Mr. Larison. The chapter discussed plans for the upcoming FFA week, along with deciding to have an advisor's cookout for the chapter during FFA week. The meeting ended at 11:40 AM with refreshments and snacks for the members who participated.

Addie Bartels, Madeline Bontrager, and Addison Bontrager went over and presented all the information needed for the posters to each grade level. These members enjoyed engaging with the younger kids in hopes that they find themselves involved in ag one day!

District Agronomy

By: Addie Bartels

The District agronomy CDE  took place on January 22nd in Marysville. It’s always a good day when we take a bus full of members to an event. Holton competed well. After finding out about some changes to who was going to be going and shuffling around other members our A-team came out on top with a district championship. Emberlee Allen placed 1st, Mara Marten was 3rd, Evan Schaller was 11th, and Lora Larison participated. Huge shoutout to Evan for stepping up and helping his team, he was a huge part of the team winning. B-team was 9th place and participants were Grant Warner, Tucker Terry, Michael Willcott, Thayne Gross. Great job everyone!

Jackson Heights Speech Night -

By: Lane Pruett

On January 15th, 2025, FFA members from Holton, Royal Valley, and Jackson Heights met at the Jackson Heights school district in order to practice their speeches for the upcoming district event at Marysville. The handful of students from Holton who attended reported a very productive night and were grateful for the opportunity to practice their speech before the real event.

December Chapter Meeting

By: Dylan Anderson

The chapter was able to get a chapter meeting right before break, on December 16! The officers did their reports and new business followed after that. The chapter proposed a Christmas party but in the midst of all the December craze, it was postponed to a later, undecided, date. After new business, the meeting was wrapped up and refreshments were enjoyed!

Middle School Meeting

By: Dylan Anderson

The officers hosted a middle school chapter meeting on Friday, December 6. There, they introduced themselves and walked the middle schoolers through the usual meeting agenda. The officer team got to help teach the young members about how a chapter meeting is run and the process of it all. The middle schoolers and the officers played a “Guess the Song” game and, of course, to raise morale, door prizes were offered. Overall, a really great meeting!
